Matt HamiltonDespite Matt Hamilton's problems in qualifying on Saturday, BTCC race day at Rockingham proved much more sucessfull. Race 1 saw the track drying after heavy rain overnight, making tyre choice difficult. After moving up to tenth in the opening laps, worn tyres saw Matt pit, eventually ending the race in 15th place. Conditions were much more predictable in Race 2, with a completely dry track. Starting from 15th on the grid, the TH Motorsport driver ran the race at a consistent pace to finish the race in an encouraging 14th. The final race of the day was again run in dry conditions and gave Matt his best result of the day, narrowly missing his first BTCC points finish in 12th position. The next round is at the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit in just 7 days time.
