BTCC Croft - Race Report PDF Print E-mail
John George avoids the wreckage that red flagged race oneThe contrasting weather conditions made for some dramatic action during the three BTCC races at Croft. The high temperatures experienced in qualifying on Saturday greeted the drivers again for Race 1, with the TH Motorsport Racing with JAG Honda Integra starting from 19th position on the grid. Unfortunately, on lap 13, the race was red-flagged when Tom Chilton's Focus collided with a spinning Chevrolet Lacetti. John George narrowly missed the incident and finished a solid 14th.

Race 2 saw John George sustain some minor damage to the near-side front wing during the course of the race. Despite this, the car ran reliably in warm but increasingly overcast conditions to finish yet again in 14th position.

John George's Honda Integra leads Chevrolet Lacetti despite minor damageFor the final race of the day at Croft, the heavens opened. The conditions were such that incidents were always likely to occur and John George, starting the race from 14th again, skillfully managed to avoid the mayhem. The safety car was deployed on more than one occasion whilst damaged cars were cleared from the track, with the TH Motorsport Racing with JAG Honda Integra finishing just out of the points in 12th place.
