The contrasting weather conditions made for some dramatic action during the three BTCC races at Croft. The high temperatures experienced in qualifying on Saturday greeted the drivers again for Race 1, with the TH Motorsport Racing with JAG Honda Integra starting from 19th position on the grid. Unfortunately, on lap 13, the race was red-flagged when Tom Chilton's Focus collided with a spinning Chevrolet Lacetti. John George narrowly missed the incident and finished a solid 14th.
With near-tropical weather at Croft, the high track temperatures meant that many of the front-wheel drive cars struggled to get the best out of their tyres in qualifying. John George improved on his free practice time by six tenths of a second, with a best lap of 1:28.202 in the TH Motorsport Racing with JAG Honda Integra. He'll line up 19th on the grid for tomorrows opening British Touring Car Championship race. Watch all the days action on ITV4.
The TH Motorsport Racing with JAG Team had a testing race day at the Oulton Park circuit. After experiencing problems in qualifying on Saturday, the Honda Integra engine finally suffered a major failure on the sighting lap before lining up on the grid for Race One. The car was recovered to the pitlane, but the work required would mean the car would be unable to take its place on the grid for the first two races.
