Unfortunately, on lap 13, the race was red-flagged when Tom Chilton's Focus collided with a spinning Chevrolet Lacetti. John George narrowly missed the incident and finished a solid 14th.

The TH Motorsport Racing with JAG Team had a testing race day at the Oulton Park circuit. After experiencing problems in qualifying on Saturday, the Honda Integra engine finally suffered a major failure on the sighting lap before lining up on the grid for Race One. The car was recovered to the pitlane, but the work required would mean the car would be unable to take its place on the grid for the first two races.
